Strategy’s not rocket science.

Some many imply it is. Some claim it’s an art.

Is it really?

Personally, I think it’s simple pragmatism and focus … clear thinking, made actionable.

It’s about truly knowing your organisation. It’s understanding your market, getting to grips with what really drives ROI. But it’s also about connecting the dots, thinking beyond the obvious, and pushing past the tried-and-tested to find fresh perspectives.

You don’t need to be a creative to be a great strategist. But you do need to get creativity…as well as psychology, culture, and what influences human behaviour. You need to be curious, a good listener (especially when it comes to future audiences), and be able to focus what you learn.

We look for the stories hidden in the data. We strip away the noise to find the simple, meaningful truths, ideally without boring anyone to tears along the way.

Good strategy is seeing how the short-term supports the long-term. Knowing that effectiveness and efficiency aren’t the same thing. It’s about being clear, focused and human.

And yes, it’s not always easy.

It can be hard sometimes.
